If you
looking to buy property in Spain, why not consider Costa
Blanca South? This region is easily reachable by
Motorway, and also from the airports at Murcia and Alicante. Costa
Blanca has a beautiful coastline, with long sandy beaches, and
bays with rugged cliffs. You will find sleepy Spanish villages, and
larger modern towns. The temperature here is mild the whole year
round - this, and the seemingly endless blue skies, and a much
slower pace of life make this a very inviting place, and well worth
considering if you are looking to buy property in Spain.
Some of the main areas with property for sale in
Costa Blanca South are;
Torrevieja
This is the main town in the area - It is a seaside
town about a 30 minute drive South from Alicante. It is surrounded
by two large saltwater lakes, which as well as providing a wildlife
haven, are reputed to help improve arthritis, rheumatism and
asthma. You will find fine sandy beaches, coves, sand dunes,
gardens, parks, walks, together with historic buildings, monuments
and churches. There are plenty of restuarants, shops and
entertainment here. Torrevieja is popular throughout the year
with many UK residents setting up home
there.
La
Zenia
Is about 8km to the south of
Torrevieja. From La Zenia you can easily reach the sandy
beaches of the Orihuela Costa by foot. There are numerous bars and
restaurants, a supermarket and wine shop, so it is ideal for those
without transport. La Zenia and Playa
Flamenca both have easy access
to Torrevieja by bus, and also to the golf courses of
Las Ramblas,
Vilamartin and
Campoamar, so plenty to do in
this
area.
Alicante Is a
port and seaside resort, which has been built up around the
natural harbour. On the summit of Mount Benacantil is a 16th
century castle. It has a promenade along the sea front which
is ideal for relaxing. There is plenty of nightlife in the
old town. Plus of course the main
airport is on the outskirts of
Alicante.
Guardamar
Is just 15 km north of Torrevieja, and connected to
it by a beach and pine covered sand dunes. Part of this area has
been designated a conservation area, and has lovely walks through
the pine trees down to the sea. It was once only a small village,
but is now home to a yacht club and marina. Water sports are
plentiful here. Becoming a popular holiday
resort.
Santa Pola is
appprox. 18 Km from Alicante, and it has a busy fishing harbour
where you can purchase the days catch at the wharf side.
Visit the local restaurants to taste the local fish dishes.
Elche an ancient city with lots of
history and culture. Famous within Spain for growing and exporting
palm trees. Elche also has a thriving shoe
industry.
You will see that the Costa Blanca
has something to offer everyone - and it is only 2 hours away from
the UK, with many regional airports offering regular flights into
both Alicante and Murcia.
