PAMPOROVO
Pamporova is a purpose built ski resort, which has a good range of beautiful scenic runs available. It is located in the Rhodopi mountains.

It is the sunniest Bulgarian mountain resort, with around 120 days of sunshine during the skiing period.

The gentle slopes of the mountain, make Pamporovo a particularly good choice for beginners, although there are the more difficult ski runs for the experts, like the Giant Slalom run.

The ski runs come in several levels of hardship, with the most difficult being "The Wall". There is an international Slalom course to time yourself on, and at there are plenty of wide open runs in this resort it is ideal for snowboarding. There is great off-piste skiing availabe in Pamporova - although it is recommended that a local guide is used when skiing off-piste.

Tuition in many languages is available within the resort, and with the snow cannons, you can expect a long ski season.

Bulgaria is fast becoming a favourite ski destination, with Bulgaria placing a bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympics. If successful, the games would be held in Bansko, Borovets and Vitosha (Sofia).
